Bromsgrove Rovers (0) 4

Malvern Town (0) 2

Worcestershire Royal Infirmary Cup

HOLDERS Bromsgrove were pushed all the way by battling Malvern Town last night but came through the second round unscathed.

The entertainment at the Victoria Ground was saved for the action-packed second period. The visitors took the lead seven minutes after the restart when Mark Taylor's low left-wing cross was steered into the goal by Matt Upton.

Rovers responded immediately when Dave Alden was unable to hold onto Paul Lloyd's stinging shot and Shaun Derry was on hand to tap in the rebound.

The home team took the lead on the hour as Liam O'Neill bravely dived at Alden's feet to convert Michael Moore's cross.

Rovers were brought back to level pegging on 70 minutes with an Upton penalty after Neil Bray had been harshly penalised for a tackle on Neil Mogford.

The Greens regained the lead eight minutes from time when O'Neill scored his second with a low drive from Moore's cross. The game was made safe in injury time when Joe Licata struck the ball into the top corner.
