DEAR EDITOR -- I write regarding the Rubery Hill Hospital burial ground, at The Fordrough, Rubery Lane, in the hope of getting some christian recognition for what I am outlining.

I have been advised that among the near 2,000 ex Rubery Hill and Hollymoor Hospital patients interned within the burial ground, some German prisoners of war from the conflict of 1914-18 were also laid to rest therein. I believe this was during the time Rubery Hill Hospital was under the control of the War Department.

It was then known as the First Birmingham War Hospital.

Can any of your older readers make any comment on what I have outlined?

I am in touch with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and their German counterparts with regard to possible German war dead being interned at Rubery Lane.

I would appreciate any help in my endeavours from your readers.
