DEAR EDITOR -- Full marks to Worcestershire County Council for the speed they commenced the work required to maintain safe access to the North Worcestershire Path adjacent to Beacon Hill, Rubery.
The question of responsibility for the paths maintenance, tree removal and problems associated with fly-tipping have always in the past been highly contentious between the county and district councils.
However, on this occasion following resident complaints the removal of a fallen tree, ditch maintenance to prevent flooding of neighbouring gardens and path maintenance took place without delay.
The standard has now been set by the new county council for an improvement of public services.
Let us hope that this will be maintained.
John Ashman,
Chairman, Lickey Hills
Consultative Committee,
Beacon Hill,
Rubery.
