DROITWICH Dolphins were at home in the second round of the prestigious Speedo League on November 10 and the supporters had plenty to cheer.

Team members notched up several first places with outstanding performances coming from Kate Hull, Mark Draper and David Fisher.

Kate swam in the ladies' 100m backstroke to take first place in the 15 years and under and was second in the Open event.

Mark, swimming in the men's Open 100m butterfly, had an easy win as did David Fisher in the 11 years and under 50m backstroke.

Steve Snape took an impressive second place in the individual medley and the 100m breaststroke. Snape was joined by Mark Draper, James Bourne and Craig Mortelmans to win the Open medley relay.

The ladies' Open medley team of Kate Hull, Rachel Roberts, Natalie Clifford and Alice Richardson swam to second place.

The 11 years and under boys' team of David Fisher, Rhys Davey, Nick Houlston and Sam Bower took first place in the medley relay. Fisher, Davey, Houlston and James Hegan-Smith took second place in the freestyle relay.

Sam Bower was second in the 50m breaststroke and Rhys Davey rounded off this age group by taking second in the 50m butterfly.

The girls' 15 years and under freestyle relay team of Kate Hull, Alex Dunn, Rachel Roberts and Alice Richardson provided the most exciting finish for the home crowd when they took first place by a narrow margin. Alice also notched up second place in the 100m freestyle and Rachel was runner-up in the breaststroke.

In the girls' 11 years and under, Fiona Watt took first place in the 50m butterfly.

Emma Williams and Alexis Collier were second in the backstroke and freestyle respectively. They were joined by Rebecca Mullett and Beth O'Brien to take second in both the medley and freestyle relays.

Alex Dunn notched up a second place in the 100m freestyle in the girls' 13 and under as did the boys' 15 years freestyle relay team of James Bourne, Craig Mortelmans, Charles Fisher and David Pattison.

Droitwich finished third overall behind Bromsgrove and Kingsbury Aquarius.
