REDDITCH United today appointed Rod Brown as their new manager.

Brown, whose Stourport team was ironically on the end of a 5-4 League Cup loss, to the Reds on Tuesday warned his players he wanted discipline and organisation.

"I'm very much a manager from the old school," he told the Advertiser.

"Redditch have some technically gifted players but lack organisation.

"At this level of football your attitude and organisation matters for perhaps 70 per cent and the technical ability is the bit you add on.

"The players need to overhaul their approach and I think I can give them the knowhow to win matches at this level."

Brown is set to meet the players tonight and will take over from caretaker manager Paul West for Saturday's trip to Shepshed (ko 3pm).

He is set to bring in Irish midfielder Daire Doyle and striker Stuart Hadley on a month's loan from Kidderminster Harriers and has brought assistant manager Gary Whild with him along with player-coach Brendan Hackett to bolster his defence.

And he was set for talks with former Reds defender Lee Knight and Bromsgrove forward Michael Moore tonight.

And Brown is set to make seven day approaches for Gresley right back Stuart Bluck along with three other targets including a defender and a striker.

West has been trying to bring in a goalkeeper for Saturday's game and has approached former Reds shot-stopper Dave Adey along with Bilston's Andy De Bont.
