REDS star Ian Mitchell says the players have responded positively to the arrival of Rod Brown as manager.

The former Stourport boss has a reputation as a disciplinarian but Mitchell says the squad has welcomed his appointment.

"I think he can turn it around," said the United full back.

"Already his training exercises have made a difference.

"We had two great sessions this week and know we will become a fitter side.

"It was hard work on Tuesday but there were smiles on people's faces."

Mitchell confirmed Lee Knight had completed his transfer from Halesowen Town and would be likely to be reintroduced to the Valley faithful against league leaders Chippenham tomorrow (ko 3pm).
