BROMSGROVE Ladies' Second XI 1 Stourport Ladies' Second XI 4. Town were expecting a competitive game against a good side - and that's exactly what they got.
The match began at a high pace with both teams trying to establish themselves.
For Bromsgrove, there was great one-two passing between joint players of the match Clare Berisford and Jane Humby in midfield.
The defence held out against a well structured Stourport attack until midway through the first half when Stourport took the lead.
Bromsgrove kept the pressure on and went close several times. But at half time the score was 2-0.
Town came out for the second half with renewed determination and Mo Fitzgerald fired the ball into the back of the net.
They pushed hard for an equalising goal but were unable to beat the Stourport defence.
With only minutes remaining Stourport managed to stretch their lead with a further two goals.
