Barnt Green Spartak (0) 2
Kenilworth Wardens (0) 0
Midland Combination Division Two
SPARTAK were frustrated for long periods on Saturday against a hard-working Wardens side.
Simon Campbell and Mark Christie had four good chances between them in the opening 20 minutes but they failed to break the deadlock.
Spartak were given the lead on 47 minutes when a Campbell cross was driven in by Kieron Holland from 12 yards.
Leading scorer Jay Rose came off the bench and scored with a clever free-kick from 20 yards to secure the three points.
The former Aldershot Town player has decided to continue to travel from the south coast for Spartak games.
Work commitments mean Rose will live in Bournemouth for six months.
