A REDDITCH campaigner for organ donation has raised £500 from contributions to contest a court decision to close the hospital which saved her father's life.
Elaine Whitfield's dad, Arthur, had an orthotopic heart transplant in 1991, making him the oldest man in Britain to have the operation at 67.
But Harefield Hospital is set to move from its existing site in Middlesex and merge with the Royal Brompton and St Mary's hospitals at Paddington Basin.
Miss Whitfield, who recently handed out her one millionth donor card since her efforts to raise awareness of the need for organ donation began 10 years ago, is now appealing for more donations or support in the Heart of Harefield Campaign.
Anyone wanting to make a donation can contact the Heart of Harefield Campaign, PO Box 4649, Redditch B98 8PF.
