WORCESTER cruiserweight boxer Adam Cale was left unhappy after being controversially stopped in the first round of his latest fight in London.
Taking on light-heavyweight Tony Strong, Cale was knocked down by an early blow and although ready to carry on after taking a mandatory count of eight, the referee called a halt.
Cale said: "I had my hands low and he hit me on the jaw. I take my hat off to the guy - it was a good punch - but when you get up to fight and the referee stops it, it robs the punters."
Cale now plans to drop back to the light-heavyweight division, where he is unbeaten, and hopes to put in some hard training before his next fight, possibly in January.
