Worcester City are still locked in talks with two clubs in a bid to bring three new players to St George's Lane including a centre half and a striker.
Director Dave Boddy confirmed negotiations were on going but said he remained optimistic that manager John Barton would have at least one new addition to his squad in time for Saturday's trip to Crawley Town.
Barton met one of the transfer targets after the Merthyr match on Monday and agreed personal terms with the player.
"Negotiations are on going and there is nothing to report at the moment but we are still hopeful that something might happen on all three fronts before the weekend," said Boddy.
