A LEADING Tory politician has visited staff at Droitwich Spa's state-of-the-art £35m milk dairy.

Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff spent more than an hour touring the newly-opened Robert Wiseman Dairy, at Stonebridge Cross Business Park.

He met many constituents employed at the Hampton Lovett site, from administration to production workers.

Mr Luff said: "I was delighted when I heard Wiseman's were coming to Droitwich.

"The company has a fine reputation and its arrival in Worcestershire is good news.

"Not only is the dairy impressive but it also represents a major investment in the local economy, making it even more diverse.

"Diversity makes the local economy stronger so Wiseman's is doubly welcome."

The facility opened earlier this year and can process 500 million litres of fresh milk each year.

Wiseman's financial director, Billy Keane, said: "We have invested considerable time and effort to ensure our Droitwich dairy sets new standards for the dairy industry.

"We have also striven to employ the best possible people, many of whom come from the local area.

"We were delighted Mr Luff made the visit on November 12 to see for himself the people who make this business the success that it is."
