A DELEGATION of Redditch market traders is to meet council chiefs to try to find a way forward on the impasse over moving from their temporary home.

Members of the Redditch Market Traders Association will meet Council Leader Albert Wharrad and officer in charge of markets Dave Prinsep tomorrow evening.

Traders are fighting to stay around St Stephen's Church, where they have been located while the Kingfisher redevelopment has been taking place.

They have gained strong support from the public who feel the area has been revitalised, according to association branch chairman Chris Sutton.

But the council has signed a contract with developers Thornfield that the market will be incorporated into the new Kingfisher Centre.
