OFFICERS are banking Redditch folk will step up their recycling of old bottles and jars.
Redditch Council recycling chiefs have renewed an appeal to townspeople to recycle glass packaging following a visit to one of the largest glass reprocessing plants in Yorkshire.
The visit coincided with national campaign Glass is Forever, which aims to raise awareness of glass recycling.
Over the last year, people in Redditch and Bromsgrove have recycled 1,200 tonnes of glass but this amounted to only one third of all such items bought.
