DROITWICH entertained Market Drayton in their DTZ Midlands Hockey League fixture on Saturday and won a seven-goal cracker.
The Spa took the lead in the first ten minutes when Nick Bates scored from a Liam Hine cross.
Barry Williams extended the advantage, putting the ball past the keeper at the second attempt.
The visitors struck back before half time with a penalty corner goal but Spa extended their lead after the break with goals from Bates and Williams.
This seemed to have sealed the game but Drayton were not finished and, thanks to an error in the Spa defence, it became 4-2.
A late penalty flick narrowed the lead to one and meant the home team had to hold out nervously.
