A WOMAN who loves plants but can't smell the beautiful blooms in her garden has been featured in a magazine.
Malley Terry devotes hours to tending to her Alexander Avenue lawns but she can never enjoy the scent of fragrant flowers.
The green-fingered gran features in the December edition of Your Garden.
She lost her sense of smell a decade ago but she believes her loss was compensated by her keen eye for colour.
Malley and her husband, David, chose a pink and purple theme for their planting and have added ferns and alpines.
The medical secretary said: "I miss being able to smell the garden but I can still remember the fragrances.
"I'm out there summer and winter -- often being helped by my two young grand-daughters."
The couple open their garden to the public during the summer as part of the National Garden Scheme.
People pay to view the grounds and cash goes to various charities.
