FAMILIES joined in the fun in Droitwich Spa at the weekend to celebrate the town's colourful array of decorations.

The town is Spa-rkling following the Saturday's grand switch-on.

Carol singers and a brass band injected plenty of seasonal cheer and residents were out in force to see the town lit up at 4.30pm.

Mayor Maureen Lawley and our competition winner Suzanne Richter, who dressed up as Cinderella, pressed the all-important button.

Droitwich Spa Association for Retail, Tourism and Services and Salters Shopping Centre organised the event.

DARTS member Jan Bolton said: "Everybody had a fabulous time."

Traders are now preparing for the late-night shopping event on Friday and Saturday December 8 and 9.

The town will be packed with attractions, including a fair and free train rides.

DARTS are keen to hear from any town groups or charities which would like to set up a stall in St Andrew's Street.

Call Jan, on (01905) 775852, for details.
