A DROITWICH Spa shopkeeper has hit out at vandals who have damaged Christmas decorations.
The Gurneys Lane trader said light bulbs have been stolen from the display and used as "missiles" during the weekend.
On Saturday, crowds turned out to see the lights switched on.
The woman, who refused to be named, said: "Shopkeepers pay to create a good Christmas atmosphere in the town, only for these yobos, for want of a better word, to spoil it.
"A child or elderly person could have fallen onto the broken glass and seriously injured themselves.
"Vandalism and graffiti seems rife in the town at present -- where's the parental supervision and police presence."
PC Colin Taylor said: "The festive season is a time for high spirits but the theft of these lights is a miserable thing to do.
"Droitwich is a close community and I'm sure there are people who know who is responsible for this behaviour."
Anyone with details can call Spa police on (01905) 723888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
