THE search is on for the fastest-growing technology companies in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

The Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 Technology programme is a campaign to recognise, reward and raise the profile of technology companies that have achieved high turnover growth over a period from 1998 to 2000.

The top 50 firms in the Midlands will be revealed at an awards ceremony at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, in February 2002.

"Deloitte and Touche is championing technology companies that focus on quality of proposition and management," said Chris Robertson, partner in charge of technology, media and telecoms.

Now in its fourth-year, the programme is dedicated to "exhibiting and supporting" the cause of growing technology companies and is co-sponsored by law firm, Pinsent Curtis Biddle, the London Stock Exchange's market for innovative technology companies, techMARK, and the Computing Services and Software Association.

To qualify for entry, companies must have been in business for at least three-years and must be British-owned and headquartered in the Midlands.

Firms must develop proprietary technology that contributes to a significant proportion of operating revenues and/or manufacture a technology-related product and/or use problem solving technology.
