NEW signings Richard Appleby and Bo Henriksen made an immediate impact as a 3-1 success at Leyton Orient gave Kidderminster Harriers their first back-to-back victories of the season.

Super-subs Appleby and Henriksen, signed on loan from Swansea and Danish side Herfolge respectively, both scored in the last 10 minutes after coming off the bench.

They were the crucial goals that gave Harriers a deserved Division Three victory at Brisbane Road and followed up the previous Saturday's 2-0 beating of Bristol Rovers.

It seemed Jan Molby's men may be denied only their second away win of the campaign after midfielder Jeff Minton equalised in-form Dean Bennett's first-half opener.

But the two loan men had different ideas with the excellent Scott Stamps playing a major part in both goals from left-back to help move Harriers up to 12th in the table.

Assistant boss Gary Barnett declared: "We have to improve our away record and this is a major start. Three goals away from home is terrific and gives more confidence.

"The chances have been coming away from home recently while we were struggling earlier in the season.

"Full credit to the lads for their work rate, for playing open, attacking football and being positive. It's great to have options and the two new signings are both good footballers.

"Appleby is a winger on either side and is a very hard worker who has got a bit of quality with his end product.

"Bo is a clever forward who has scored goals in Denmark and his was a terrific first-time touch and excellent finish for the goal."

Harriers defended doggedly for the opening quarter-of-an-hour before taking the lead on 20 minutes.

Danny Williams won the ball in midfield and supplied Bennett who swapped a quick one-two with Larkin before bursting into the box and finishing with ease from 15 yards.

Home keeper Scott Barrett denied Williams minutes into the second half, parrying his drive into the air and then happily claiming the rebound. But Orient were level on 66 minutes when Minton rifled home a superb 20-yard finish.

Harriers were not to be denied though Larkin, faced with an open goal, shot straight at former Hereford defender Dean Smith after good work from Stamps on 75 minutes.

But Stamps was again involved 10 minutes from time, crossing for Drewe Broughton to nod back across goal and Appleby connected with a superb diving header to put his new team-mates ahead.

A stunning long pass from Stamps three minutes later was brilliantly controlled by Henriksen inside the box and the Dane flicked a calm finish past Barrett.
