DURING a Commons debate on the Food Labelling Bill, which will ensure that food is clearly labelled with its place of origin, Leominster MP Bill Wiggin said: ''I have a little red tractor logo stuck to my fridge so my family do not forget to check to ensure that we are buying British.''
In the same debate the Leominster MP also managed to get in a plug for the local cider industry. He told thirsty MPs: ''I recommend the cider on sale in the House, as it is made in Much Marcle in my constituency and the apples are from the surrounding countryside.
''Honourable members will find it absolutely delicious, but I am sure that there is room on the bottle for a little label confirming that all apples are British.''
