IT'S attack or bust for Terry Murphy in his bid to win the Benson and Hedges Snooker Championship at Mansfield.
The former Old Hill star, a quarter-finalist in Malvern two years ago, reached the last 32 of the 2001 event yesterday with a 5-2 victory over Yorkshireman Paul Davison.
The slightly generous pockets have meant the century breaks have been flying in and Murphy says: "It won't be a safety player or a negative player who wins this title.
"I've told myself if there is half a chance I am going for it. These tables mean you must be really positive."
Murphy, now living in Martley, made a succession of vital breaks against underdog Davison without adding his name to the century break compilers.
His best was a 67 to close out the match and set up a best of nine against Scot Stephen Maguire tonight. He also made breaks of 66, 43 and 41.
