A DROITWICH man was today said to be in a serious condition at Worcester's Ronkswood Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for a stab wound.

Police and emergency crews were called to a property in Wey Close, Droitwich, at 4.40am today and found the 34-year-old lying in a pool of blood.

Police spokeswoman Vicki Davies said the man, who had been stabbed in the back, was in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.

She added police were following a number of leads but appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact the station.
