A MOCK court was set up outside the Guildhall over the weekend to highlight the first trial of GM crop protestors in Worcester.
The Worcestershire Greenpeace group organised a series of events on Saturday, which included street theatre and green stalls.
The demonstrations were in protest at the trial of two Herefordshire residents, due to appear at Worcester Crown Court tomorrow charged with criminal damage.
Barbara Charvet, aged 59, a rehabilitation therapist from Michaelchurch Escley, and 26-year-old Jim Ridout, a garden designer from Orcop, were alleged to have entered a test crop of GM maize at the ADAS research centre at Preston Wynne, Herefordshire.
In the wake of the trial, action groups from Birmingham, Coventry and Hereford will be converging on Worcester this week to lobby supermarket shoppers and carry out a peaceful anti-GM procession.
Peter Robinson, co-ordinator of Worcestershire Greenpeace, confirmed the organisation would be carrying out a survey to gauge residents' feelings on GM crops.
Members will also be creating a GM-free register for the public to sign.
This could include residents who own allotments or gardens and want to declare their land GM-free.
