HEREFORD United's injury woes have eased in recent weeks with just Phil Robinson, Ian Rodgerson and Scott Cooksey not in first team action.

Caretaker boss Robinson was set to play in a friendly for the reserves against Swansea in midweek and is easing himself back into contention for a first team place.

But the experienced Robinson is wary of the pitfalls of coming back after a long period out with a wrist injury.

"I'm getting closer to a comeback but obviously when you have been out for a long time you are liable to get a couple of niggles but I'm hoping to get some competitive action," he said.

"At the moment it is only Ian and myself with injury doubts so we are certainly getting people back fit and the squad is the biggest we had this season."

Scott Voice missed the Woking game last week after picking up a knock and has endured a stop-start season unable to repeat his Bilston Town goalscoring exploits in the Dr Martens Western Division after being hampered by injury.

Robinson has faith in the forward but admits stepping up a league and training full time can bring its own problems.

"Sometimes you find when players all of a sudden become full time that it takes time for the body to adjust to the rigours of training every day and this might be the case with Scott but we are certainly looking after him. What Scott needs now is to maintain his fitness and play some games. It is a big leap stepping up two divisions and the Conference is very strong at the moment and there has been a lot of money spent by a lot of teams. He's moved up and is facing good teams and defenders and it is tough but he's done well and hopefully he can manage to shake off these little niggles he's had and get among the goals."
