KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are to study video evidence before deciding whether to appeal against Ian Foster's sending off in last night's 1-0 LDV Vans Trophy second round defeat against Chesterfield at Saltergate last night.

Foster was dismissed during the first half in a match the Spireites won thanks to a golden goal by David Reeves.

Front-runner Foster was given his marching orders after a 30th minute flare-up with defender Martyn Booty.

Harriers assistant boss Gary Barnett said afterwards: "The referee has confirmed he sent Foster off for allegedly kicking their guy while he was on the floor. But from where we were standing the referee has sent him off for kicking the ball twice.

"If the referee takes another look at the video of this game then I would hope he would be very disappointed with that decision. It was a terrible decision and we're very unhappy.

"We'll take a look at the video and decide where to go from there."

Although beaten by Reeves 93rd minute goal, Kidderminster produced a display which pleased Barnett.

He said: "We're delighted with every single one of the lads. We spoke to them before the game and told them they needed to produce a good performance and they did exactly that.

"They have now set themselves a standard which we expect them to now achieve every game.

"We were desperately un-lucky to lose but the lads can take a lot of heart from the performance."

Colin Larkin missed a good chance to put Harriers ahead when he fired wide from ten yards.

The effort came just before Foster was sent off.

Ten-man Harriers, however, continued to give a good account of themselves and with Dean Bennett and Blake both having long range efforts go just wide.

Stefan Moore missed a glorious chance to break the deadlock shortly before the end of normal time. Reeves, however, wasted little time in clinching victory in extra time.
