Droitwich Ladies' Second XI 3

Pershore Ladies' Second XI 1

DROITWICH started the match with first push back and made positive runs into the Pershore half.

Central Defender Sarah Iles played an excellent one two with Katie Pryce where the ball was cleverly passed wide to Kerry Venskus. She unselfishly passed the ball across the goalkeeper for captain Sarah Meyers to slot home.

Droitwich continued to pressure Pershore's defence and left wing Gemma Richards capitalised on poor marking to double Droitwich's lead.

Droitwich remained in control with shots from Jackie Woodward narrowly missing and saves from Pershore's keeper. After the break, a lack of concentration saw Pershore score through Sarah Nicolson.

Pershore continued to push for an equaliser but Droitwich defended well and regained possession.

With excellent moves by the team into the D, Meyers scored her second and Droitwich's third.

Spa continued to attack Pershore's goal with numerous shots stopped on the line and several short corner attacks saved by the goalkeeper.

Captain Sarah Meyers said: "Our team is coming together nicely, and with the way we are playing we can only get better.

"Next week will be a test as are away to Bournville Thirds in the league, but if we continue to play the positive hockey we have shown we should come away with a good result."
