SO, the vandalism continues!

It appears that Wyre Forest district councillors/planners do not learn from their mistakes. After allowing the town to be divided by the ring road and approving the demolition of the old library, can they not see how wrong it would be to approve or allow the demolition of the piano building for whatever reason?

My husband and I attended the Wyre Forest Roadshow held at the Corn Exchange. We spoke at some length with one of the planners in attendance who agreed that the old library should have been given listed building status and not pulled down.

We then went on to discuss the provision of a cinema to which he said one proposal had been to site it at the safari park. Would this not be a suitable solution? Why do we have to keep the cinema in the centre?

It would appear that it is a case of the tail 'wagging the dog' when we read that the cinema operators are only interested in building on the piano building site. Why should we be held to ransom in this way? Surely the choice shouldn't be a cinema over one of the few quality buildings left standing in Kiddermin-ster!

In response to the comment that an alternative use cannot be found for the piano building -how about the council using it for their single site? Or is that too simple a solution?

Maybe the tenants of Crown House could move in as well and demolish Crown House instead of a lovely, historic brick-built building.

Our only remaining cinema should never have been taken away in 1982. It is the duty of this Council to return our entertainment facilities without robbing us of our heritage.
