BOTH the first and second lacrosse teams from Malvern Girls' College won their matches to come top at the recent Senior Wales Rally Tournament, held at Haberdashers' Monmouth School.
It was a close tournament for the first team who fought hard to win through on goals scored. The second team also played well, winning all their matches to come top.
Kirsty Macsporran, lacrosse teacher at the College said: "There were some tough matches but the girls played with determination to succeed and we were delighted with their success."
The lacrosse teams enjoyed further success last weekend at the Senior Midlands Tournament held at Bedford, when the first team played brilliantly beating Moreton Hall, Alice Ottley, St Helens and St Katherines and drawing with Wycombe Abbey to remain undefeated and win the trophy.
The second team beat Wycombe Abbey in the semi-final and then defeated Moreton Hall in the final to win their trophy.
The County Tournament was played on Sunday and Malvern Girls' College again defeated Alice Ottley 5-1 to win the County Cup.
Following the match, the trials were held and all of the MGC first squad were selected for either the first or second county team. They were:- 1st - Abigail Salmon (jt captain), Camilla Smith, Harriet Watkins, Imogen Salmon, Sara Darweish, Izzie Davies, Imogen Allen-Back, Anna Holder, Beccy Haley, Jackie Turley, 2nd - Alanna Bullock (captain), Louise Paisley, Alice Paisley, Harriet Biffa, Georgina Reames.
