A MEDICAL equipment company is building a 37,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre on Stonebridge Cross Business Park, in Droitwich.

Kimal Plc, which already has manufacturing premises in Bromsgrove, has taken a pre-let on the premises, due for completion in February 2002.

The company, which exports medical equipment to hospitals all over the world, has taken a 15-year lease on the premises and there is a provision for extension to about 47,000 sq ft.

"Kimal is a significant acquisition to Stonebridge Cross, where there is the opportunity to develop production and distribution buildings up to 400,000 sq ft," said Neil Starkie of FPD Savills, joint letting agents with Fuller Peiser.

The business park's landowner, AXA REIM, which is developing it in association with Stoford Developments, is constructing a four-unit speculative phase of around 90,000 sq ft of floor space.

Earlier this year, the construction of Robert Wiseman Dairies' milk processing and distribution centre was completed at the 77-acre site.
