AN entertaining Worcester Sunday League Division Two match saw some tremendous finishes from both sides with the result in doubt up until the last few minutes.

KAYS 4, MALVERN RADAR 6

Radar always just had the edge although Kays fought hard. Lee Brookes opened the scoring for Radar with a low effort after Trevor Bagnall's excellent cross was only partially cleared and the same player thought he had made it 2-0 only to be denied by the offside flag.

Kays came back into the game with their quick forwards causing Radar some concern and they deservedly levelled when Steve Holmes finished a mazy run with an excellent shot from the edge of the box.

Two goals leading up to half time gave Radar what appeared to be a comfortable lead. John Rooney's great through ball released Tony Bishop and although he looked to be going away from the goal, he promptly lashed in a great volley passed Malcolm Bamford in the home goal. Three minutes later Nial Henderson showed great control, chesting down Phil Birch's pass and blasting in from 12 yards.

The home side scored right on the half time whistle when Kevin Jones looked liked scoring but was denied by Clive Churchill's great tackle only for the ball to break to Dave Horan who coolly lifted it over Chris Ball in Radar's goal.

Radar regained a two goal lead with another great long range effort from Henderson only for Kays to make it 3-4 when following a corner, the hardworking Tom Charteris crashed in an 18 yard drive into the corner of the net.

With the crowd enjoying the quality of the goals, midfielder Henderson joyfully completed a fine hat-trick with a clever 20 yard lobbed volley over the stranded Bamford to make it 5-3 to Radar.

Although there was only 10 minutes left no one was too surprised when there were two more goals scored. Bagnall caused some confusion in the Kays defence when he chased what appeared to be a lost cause and he somehow squeezed a shot into the bottom corner of the net from 18 yards and then right at the end Henderson, not happy with three goals in the right end, blasting Horan's cross into his own net to complete the scoring in an excellent match.

On Sunday, Radar are away to Colwall, meet RSRE Club 9.30am.
