THE Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers threw open their camp at Blackmore to the public fifty years ago.
The event gave Malvern people - and the soldiers' families, some of whom travelled many miles to be there - a chance to see how the conscripts lived and what they did.
One demonstration of military efficiency is pictured here. The soldiers assembled a jeep from its components in just 1 minute 23 seconds and drove it away.
