MALVERN Town gained their second Stourport & District U16's Youth League win of the season.
MALVERN TOWN 3, ST FRANCIS COLTS 1
After an even first half where the score remained goalless, Malvern brought Tom Vaughan on for Tom Griffiths at half time and took the game to St Francis. They still could not break down the defence and Jamie Thomas came on for James Badham.
Rob Cullen then won the ball and hit a perfectly weighted pass for Thomas to run onto and power the shot home.
Malvern soon doubled their lead when Anthony Smith scored after some excellent work by Joel Skyers.
Smith was then booked and within minutes carried off with a badly cut foot. While Malvern were reduced to ten men St Francis pulled a goal back, 2-1.
Malvern were now under pressure but used the wind to clear a long ball for Thomas to run onto, the keeper parried his shot into the path of Tom Vaughan who scored his first goal for the club.
Man of the match: Joel Skyers.
