I was pleased to read that the UK Breast Cancer Coalition is doing its best to ensure that local women are having access to the best in breast cancer services (Madeleine Thomas's letter, Postbag, October 5).

I would like to say that my personal experience of the screening process was very positive. I was recently called for follow-up on a routine mammogram and within three weeks had had two further tests and the final results.

The staff, the facilities and the prompt and sensitive way in which this was

done were beyond reproach. I was lucky enough to be found to be well but I feel sure that whatever the outcome, I would have wanted to express my thanks to everyone concerned at Hereford and Worcester Breast Screening Service.

I hope that this will reassure others about this part of breast cancer care in our area.
