THE story of the search for a hospital bed for Sharon Tolley featured on the front page of last week's Malvern Gazette (October 5) was appalling.
There is a desperate need for more hospital beds but in order to save money new hospitals are now being built with fewer beds than the ones they replace!
However, it looks as if there will be no lack of money when it comes to supporting President Bush's "war". How many millions of pounds have already been spent on the Gulf War, Yugoslavia, Nigeria etc? Meanwhile NHS patients are literally dying for lack of beds. Isn't it about time we got our priorities right?
