PUPPET workshops, a bat night and trampolining are among the activities being offered to Worcestershire families as part of Family Learning Weekend.

Tomorrow, there will be a family fun day at the sports centre in Harold Davies Drive, Stourport-on-Severn, from 9am until 1.30pm, with trampolining, gymnastics, a bouncy castle and free swimming on offer.

At Horsefair Community Centre, Broad Street, Kidderminster, between 2-4pm tomorrow, activities will include storytelling, art workshops and sports.

A ''bat night'' has been organised at Springfield Park, Springfield Lane, Kidderminster from 7pm until 8pm today. Call 01562 732971 for more details.

Woodland walk

In Bewdley, families can learn how to make rope at the museum in Lode Street between 11am and 4pm and there will also clay pipe-making demonstrations.

A woodland walk is being held at the Brockhampton Estate, near Bringsty, Herefordshire, on Sunday at 10am.

The Green Centre, in Dines Green, and the Tolladine Community Centre, Rowan Avenue, Worcester, are holding puppet workshops on Sunday, when visitors will be able to make puppets and use them to tell a story. They can also try French knitting. Times from Allan Poyner on 01905 429628.

National Family Learning Weekend has been organised by the Campaign for Learning to raise awareness of the role families can play in supporting learning and to create more opportunities at home and in the community. It is supported by the Hereford and Worcester Learning and Skills Council.
