A MAN staying at Worcester hostel had to be removed from the premises by police who sprayed him with CS spray after he had refused to leave.
Darren Gardener admitted using threatening words and behaviour to staff at Worcester YMCA, when he appeared before Droitwich magistrates yesterday.
The court was told how police were called to the YMCA after staff reported a disturbance.
Gardener had been asked to leave, but had become aggressive and shouted that he wanted to collect his coat and mobile phone from inside.
"No one was assaulted, it was just shouting and swearing," said Tony Glaze, prosecuting.
The court also heard Gardener, originally from Cheltenham Road, Gloucester, had been staying at the YMCA for five or six weeks, but staff had become unhappy with his behaviour. After police were called to remove him, he was sprayed with CS spray and was handcuffed.
Magistrates gave Gardener a six-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £55 court costs.
