CHILDREN at Pebworth First School changed school uniforms for fancy dress during World Book Week.
The youngsters turned up at school dressed as their favourite book characters and were able to talk about the character and the story and in some cases they also brought the book.
"The whole week was designed to raise awareness of the wide variety of reading materials available," said head teacher Mark McLuckie.
"People from the village came in to read stories to the children and we had a number of older residents telling stories."
Mr McLuckie added: "The children enjoyed dressing up. They also made pop-up books, some re-wrote favourite stories putting themselves in as characters and there were also readings from other cultures, which was nice."
