A WELL-travelled and talented pianist is set to perform some of the work of Medtner, Brahms, Chopin, and Rachmaninov in Kidder- minster - the day before his 24th birthday.

Duncan Honeybourne will be at Kidderminster Library on Friday, October 26 at the invitation of the town's Classical Music Society.

Weymouth-born Duncan trained at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Academy and graduated with first class honours from the Birmingham Conservatoire. He gave his first London recital aged 15.

He was awarded a Goldenweiser Scholarship for further piano study with Russian pianist Mikhail Kazakevich and recently made his debut at Birmingham's CBSO centre as soloist in the Schumann Piano Concerto.

Duncan's current season includes Grieg's Piano Concerto and solo recitals in Birmingham, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Norfolk, Lancashire and Yorkshire.

He has recorded CDs of works by Andrew Downes and Sonja Grossner and the Brahms-Handel Variations and Chopin's B minor Sonata and has also been a visiting piano teacher at The Downs School, Colwall, near Malvern, for a year.
