POLICE are hoping the number of child road casualties in Wyre Forest will fall following a force-wide campaign targeting car safety seats.
Officers checked cars at schools across the West Mercia area as part of a 10-day scheme, and are confident their efforts in checking child safety seats were correctly installed will have a positive effect.
Road safety officer John Roberts said: "While we have not yet been able to confirm the figures, there are early indications of a reduction in child road collision casualties within the force since the launch of the campaign."
Police aim to halve the number of child road collision casualties by 2010.
