I TRUST you will allow me to clarify some points in the item "Shock as councillor resigns from party" in last week's Shuttle/Times & News.
Firstly, I am secretary of Wyre Forest Constituency Labour Party - it is a long time since Bewdley enjoyed constituency status.
Similarly, Councillor Jamie Shaw would have been referring to the Bewdley Branch Party - a constituent part of the Wyre Forest Constituency Party.
Having said that Councillor Lewis had resigned from the party, I went on to say that this made him ineligible to remain a member of the Labour Group on the district council.
As far as the party is concerned I am not aware of anything which would not permit him to rejoin if he wished to apply at some time in the future.
The article later refers to Councillor David Gourley having been elected as an Independent and then joining Health Concern.
It was the other way around - he was elected under the Health Concern banner and subsequently left.
