I WELCOME the announcement that some services are to be improved at Kidderminster Hospital for some day-case surgical work.
However, we still need to know who will maintain the additional 20 beds announced by Health Minister John Hutton last week.
Will they be looked after by GPs or surgeons?
Government ministers can visit Kidderminster as much as they like but what we really need is the restoration of our A and E services.
Mr Hutton can put as much spin on this as he likes but at the end of the day nothing is going to change from the current practice where Wyre Forest patients are having to travel in ambulances to Worcester's over-stretched hospital.
