A CROWD in excess of 100 witnessed the Evesham Sunday League's Black & White Garages Bluck Cup local derby on Abbey Park between Defford/Besford United and Pershore and the players responded with nine goals and extra-time.

Defford led at the interval with an Alcock goal, before adding further goals thro-ugh Barton and Lawson.

Pershore scored three with goals from Andrews (2) and Badger, and, in extra-time, the Division Three team proved stronger and goals from Andrews, Badger and Guscott sent them through.

Elsewhere, in first round matches, a Neil Emms hat-trick helped Ambassador past Blockley Sports.

Matt Sheridan hit a double as Broadway United comfortably accounted for Tewkes-bury Town Reserves, while holders Bidford Bulls won through at the expense of Trumpeteers with goals from Freeman, McAdam and Fraser.

Mark Taylor hit two for Salford Rovers as they defeated Servicemen's and Honeybourne Gate won at Bell United with Haines, Layton, Williams and Benfield on the scoresheet.

Mickleton Rangers remain top of Division One despite being held by Hospital Club. Rangers led with goals from Barnes and Tye with the Club replying through Gled-hill and Alun Hemming.

A Jeremy Hill goal gave Badsey Rec victory at Ink-berrow, but a Lee Diamond brace wasn't enough for Bredon at Moreton Wander-ers as the home side replied through Cooke (2) and Oxley.

The top two in the second division met at Ashton and shared six goals. Willersey scored all their goals in the first half through Leeds, Reeves and Beale but Ash-ton replied through Hun-ting, Wilcox and Gamble.

Offenham Rovers earned their first point of the season at home to Red Horse who scored through Williams with Burrows replying for Rovers.

A Des Cox hat-trick helped Lower Moor overturn a half -time deficit to take the points at Ilmington Rangers.

In the day's sole Division Three game, Swan Sports won comfortably at Oddfell-ows Arms.

In Division Four, the clash between the league's newcomers saw Badsey Rec Res erves hit Hampton WMC for six with goals from Cur-ry (2), Stanbra (2), Hodge and Jordan.

Mountineers produced their best display of the season hitting seven past Crown Athletic with Stanton, Rowland, Town-send, Elliott and Simpson among the scorers. Chris Visor netted twice for Crown.

Dave Faulkner continued his goalscoring run for Shipston Sports this week hitting the winner against Ashton Res.

Evesham WMC and Upton Snodsbury both progressed in the Pershore Hospital Cup at the expense of Worc-ester League opposition, whilst Bretforton VIC were unable to raise a team in the FA Umbro Sunday Cup.
