MALVERN made it a case of triple torture for Pershore Town when, for the third successive season they sent Pershore Town crashing out of a knockout competition.

Tuesday night's Worcester Royal Infirmary Senior Cup tie was decided by single goal scored by Chris Thomas six minutes before half-time.

Pershore, however, had their chances to equalise but left their shooting boots back in the changing rooms.

When they did find the visitors' net, Simon Brain's late first half effort was disallowed and it was the midfielder who also had another couple of excellent chances.

He missed the target on both occasions while Jon Gregory and James Preece were also guilty of spurning gilt-edged opportunities to haul Pershore back into the tie.
