Pittville Utd 2, Badsey Rgrs U-14 2

BADSEY resisted a late rally from last season's league champions to come away with a point.

The visitors continued their good form as they dominated the opening 15 minutes only to be twice caught on the break.

However, goals from Dan Willmot and player of the match Dean Cloke, ensured interval parity before Badsey were again unable to take full advantage of their superiority in the second half when neither defence was breached.

Goalkeeper Scott Virgo made several fine stops as Pittville attacked on the counter late on but Rangers survived.

Norton Rgrs U-14 9, Newtown 1

ARCH rivals Newtown were given a lesson by rampant Rangers who made a dream start when newcomer Peter Steadman scored in the first minute.

They went on to produce their best football of the season in an awesome display that brought four goals in each half.

Tristan Buckley, Scott Williams and Ashley Knight added to Steadman's opener and it was soon 6-0 after the restart when Dan Cotterill and Matthew Williams headed in Ashley Knight corners.

Buckley then made it 7-0 before persistence from Scott Williams and a finish from a tight angle completed the scoring.

Newtown's solitary consolation came courtesy of a dubious second half spot-kick.

Elmley Castle 1, Evesham Utd U-9 6

UNITED maintained their unblemished record against spirited opponents on a day when former Elmley player, Olly Scarrot, was the star.

Scarrot scored a stunning hat-trick and the final total was doubled as James Bearcroft, Jake Hall and Michael Savage also found the net.

Bredon Colts U-12 4, Avon Ath 0

COLTS maintained their impressive start to the season with a comfortable defeat of their Stratford-based opponents.

A strong run and low shot gave James Offord the opening goal but it was something of a surprise when Aaron Phillips doubled the lead.

The Bredon strikers didn't have things all their own way as Avon's impressive centre half, Matt Beard, stood tall, while only a fine save from keeper Jamie Moore prevented Athletic trimming the deficit.

It was a similar pattern after the interval as Avon's defence battled well to keep out their opponents until they were twice caught on the break as Offord and Daniel Keating ran in two more goals.

Alcester 2000 0, Vale Wdrs U-11 11

WANDERERS kept up their 100 per cent start to the season with a comprehensive victory at Alcester.

They achieved the win in a one-sided match with Tom Waghorn scoring five goals, Tom McLaughlin (4) and one each for Arron Hartwell and Ryan Cantrill.

Welland 1, Peopleton U-14 4

IT took a much improved Peopleton performance until just before the break to finally breach a Welland side that had taken the lead in the dreadful conditions.

Playing against the elements, the visitors had the better of the play but only had Lea Miller's goal to look back on at the break.

The scorer then popped up again to claim his second before late strikes from Jack Bostock and Nick Andrews wrapped up what proved a comfortable win.

Broadway U-8 13,

Drakes Broughton 3

AN EXCELLENT all-round display gave Broadway a deserved victory with player of the match, Tom Johnstone, scoring a remarkable nine times.

Broadway started strongly and Johnstone soon completed his first hat-trick. Helped by goals from Harrison Parker and Charlie Stock and three more from Johnstone, Broadway led 8-0 at the interval.

The second half saw the visitors pull three goals back, two from the penalty spot, before further strikes from Luke McDonagh, Jack Galer and three more from Johnstone rounded off an emphatic victory.

Alcester Ath U-10 2,

Campden Lions 5

THE Lions maintained their 100 per cent record after a tough battle and after falling behind.

Jack Proctor's brace just prior to half-time gave Lions the lead and Jamie Johnstone took over the scoring role in the second half with a hat-trick thanks to the efforts of midfield duo Tomes and Godson.

Campden Lions U-11 3,

Drakes Broughton 0

JOE Ford gave Campden an early lead before Alex Seys drifted in a second straight from a corner.

A neat build-up then led to Rob Burford netting from close-range to make it 3-0 but only some fine goalkeeping from Chris Godson enabled the hosts to keep a clean sheet and retain their unbeaten record.

Evesham Utd U-11 5,

Kingston Colts 0

UNITED secured a place in the second round of the Witney League Knockout Cup with a strong performance, although it wasn't as easy as the scoreline suggests. There were plenty of chances in the first half but a combination of wayward shots and good goalkeeping left the tie goalless at half time 0-0.

Despite kicking up the slope, Evesham kept the pressure on Kingston, but unlike the second half the chances started to go in.

Robert Andrew (2), Jonathan Wein, Tom Adam Miles and Jordan Shelton were the scorers.

It's the same opposition this weekend, time in the League.

Newtown Spts 1,

Evesham Utd U-15 0

FOR long periods of this game Evesham outplayed the opposition from Malvern in appalling conditions.

The game was decided midway through the second half when one of Newtown's better spells resulted in a defensive lapse and the ball being stabbed home from inside the six-yard box.

Evesham then fought back and created several good chances with Ben Brotherton, Luke Kennedy and Daniel Millward all going close, but in the end it wasn't enough.

Vale Yth 3, Chipping Campden 2

DRIVING rain and gales greeted league newcomers Campden to Wick-hamford, where two closely-matched sides battled with each other and the weather.

Campden struck the first blow up the hill and into the wind. Vale replied when Ben Metrovich headed home a corner from close-range to leave the first half level.

A tough second half saw Vale take the lead when Ed Shields finished off a good passing move.

Campden soon equalised again, then the balance changed when a visiting player was dismissed.

This allowed Vale some control and Metrovich beat the defence to score low into the corner via a post. This proved to be the winner in a good encounter which extended Vale's winning run to four.

Littleton U-11 4, Bredon 0

THIS eagerly awaited game found Littleton in devastating form.

Steve Edgehill released Matt Goss and his inch-perfect cross was swept in by Ryan Clarke. Matt Taylor then produced a superb through ball which Goss fastened on to and hit a superb shot from the edge of the box.

Taylor then released Tom Cuthbert, whose shot took a deflection on its way into the net.

Bredon fought their way back into the game but were unable to beat keeper Sam Bastow and defenders Oliver Payne and Edgehill.

The second half saw both sides make several changes but Littleton continued to play their passing game and Dan Keen struck a post.

Littleton forced a series of corners and from one of these Josh Craze planted a header into the top corner to make it 4-0.
