WE, the Clopton Community forum, are concerned about the negative reporting that has been prevalent in the press over the last two weeks.

Whilst we acknowledge that the press has the right to report facts and the police are expected to deal with crime and disorder, we would like to stress some positive issues now being undertaken in the Clopton area of the town.

Warwickshire Community Education Service together with voluntary organisations, youth groups, employment service, Stratford College, Health Authority, St John Ambulance, Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and the Warwickshire Police all took part in an innovative event recently. This was a Community Day resulting in some very positive moves for the residents of the area.

Our service has awarded the Clopton Community Forum £1,000 towards community learning projects for residents. Thomas Jolyffe School has opened its doors to promote free basic computer courses.

On Wednesday, October 10, the Community Forum met for the first time since their successful Community Day. They plan to create a group that will improve the quality of life and promote community learning opportunities for the residents. If anyone who lives on the Clopton estate or on its periphery would like to get involved please contact Mike Strophair, Adult Community Learning Co-ordinator at the Community Education Office in Stratford (telephone 01926 413608).
