CHESS: Kidderminster's second team began the season with a 5-1 victory at Rugeley in Wolverhampton and District Chess League Division Two.
Rugeley were relegated from Division One at the end of last season.
Non-playing captain Michael Kitchen delegated Kevin Brant as captain for the night.
Brant inaugurated the side in the Fifth Division for the 1995/96 season and gained two promotions before handing over the captaincy.
