GOLF: Kidderminster Golf Club's young guns narrowly missed out on a place in the English final of the Sunday Telegraph Junior Team Golf Championships.
They were beaten into third place at Magnolia Park while representing the West Midlands League in the Central Regional Final.
It is the second year in succession that the youngsters from Kidderminster have made the Central Regional final.
They finished just three shots behind second-placed Shirley.
Kidderminster scores: R Wassell 80 gross 1 handicap 79 nett score 80; S Clarke 77-5-72-72; L Rogers 85-5-80-0; S Mason 82-7-75-75; H Bennett 94-18-76-76; C Merson 91-11-80-80; team total 383.
There were 12 of the best Central England junior club slides battling for just two places in the All-England final.
It will be played at Old Thorns Golf Club in Liphook on October 23 and the winners will represent the country in the Home Nations final at La Manga Club, Spain.
