JUDO: Samurai Judo Club's Mike Waldron collected a gold at the British Veterans Championships in High Wycombe.
Waldron, a fourth level black belt and member of the Kidderminster club for 10 years, faced 14 top-class opponents from across Britain.
Joyce Malley, Micky Chamberlain and Rob Holden, who all train with Samurai, also returned with golds.
And Kidderminster's Debbie Read won gold in her own weight and the open category at the British Police Championships.
Read, who started with Samurai at the age of eight, is a former British junior champion.
Another Samurai policeman Martin Brown took bronze, while Jim Neale collected silver.
