HANNAH Finch, of Ashton-under-Hill, will be returning to the area for a Parish Music concert in St Margaret's Church, Alstone, on October 20.

Along with tenor Chris Ovenden and pianist Katrina Blandy, Hannah, soprano, will take part in a recital titled A Journey through the Countryside.

The concert will include "Airs Chantes" by Poulenc, together with a variety of other songs, and two short piano solos, an arabesque by Schumann and an impromptu by Schubert, as well as a selection of musical and operatta extracts.

Hannah now continues her studies in London under Mary King. She has a degree in drama and arts from Birmingham University and has sung many opera roles, including Flora in Britten's Turn of the Screw at the Britten-Pears School, and has given numerous recitals including repertory from Purcell to Richard Rodney Bennett.

Chris Ovenden is trained in drama and opera in which he has performed many roles and has sung recently in The Marriage of Figaro for Palace Opera and in Aida at the Royal Albert Hall. Chris also performs with London Voices and in the extra chorus at Covent Garden.

Katrina Blandy is a graduate of the London Royal College of Music. She gained a postgraduate performance diploma allowing her to study and travel in Australia. She enjoys both teaching and performing.
